Marta Pierobon

Marta Pierobon (b. 1979, Brescia, Italy) lives and works in Milan, Italy. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Academy of Florence, Italy (2006). Pierobon worked as an assistant to Urs Fisher and Anna Glatarossa from 2006 to 2007 and is the co-founder of Spazio Morris in Milan. In her artistic practice, Pierobon builds and elaborates a vocabulary of undefined figures whose stories oscillate between the real and the imaginary dimensions. Through scrupulous observation of everything around her, the artist brings attention to the unexplored, that which lies behind and beyond reality.
As the artist said: “Most of my works are imagined as a family; the connection between each piece is essential to create a narrative, which can change from time to time as needed, can change from time to time depending on the arrangement of the individual works. In other words, I think of my works as communities in which each subject can live alone but needs the group to expand its meaning, group to expand its meaning. I am constantly searching for stories within my home world, in everything close to me”.
