Ibrahim Mahama has been awarded a diplomatic passport alongside four other prominent Ghanaian figures, in recognition of their significant contributions to promoting Ghana’s image internationally.
This was announced on Wednesday, 17 September by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, during the official launch of the 2025 Diaspora Summit, to be held in Ghana from 17 to 20 December 2025.
During the launch, the new diplomatic passport holders were also appointed as Ambassadors of the Diaspora Summit. This year’s event will be held under the theme: Resetting Ghana: The Diaspora as the 17th Region.
